El Tesoro Reposado Mundial Collection – Aged in Basil Hayden Toast Casks
A visionary exploration of flavor, El Tesoro Reposado Mundial Collection – Aged in Basil Hayden Toast Casks is a remarkable fusion of traditional tequila craftsmanship and innovative barrel aging. This limited-edition reposado is part of the acclaimed Mundial Collection, where El Tesoro partners with world-class whiskey makers to push the boundaries of tequila maturation.
Aged in casks that previously held Basil Hayden Toast, a distinctive Kentucky bourbon known for its unique toasted barrel profile, this reposado develops an exceptional depth of flavor. The influence of these specially charred and toasted barrels enhances the natural sweetness of El Tesoro’s agave, creating a beautifully balanced spirit with layers of warmth and complexity.
On the nose, inviting aromas of roasted agave, vanilla bean, and caramelized sugar mingle with toasted oak, cinnamon, and a hint of baking spices. The palate is smooth yet expressive, revealing rich notes of honey-drizzled agave, butterscotch, and almond, complemented by subtle hints of dark chocolate and toasted marshmallow. The finish is long and refined, with lingering notes of sweet spice, oak, and a delicate smokiness that nods to the bourbon cask influence.
