An extraordinary expression of Irish whiskey craftsmanship, Midleton Very Rare Dair Ghaelach Kilranelagh Wood is a stunning single pot still Irish whiskey that embodies the perfect marriage of tradition and innovation. Aged in virgin Irish oak casks sourced from the esteemed Kilranelagh Estate in County Wicklow, this limited-edition release is bottled at a robust 115 proof, delivering a bold yet exquisitely balanced profile that showcases the profound influence of native Irish oak.
The nose is complex and inviting, unveiling layers of honeyed vanilla, ripe orchard fruits, and toasted oak, with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and dark chocolate adding depth. The palate is full-bodied and luxuriously smooth, offering rich flavors of caramelized pear, spiced toffee, and roasted almonds, complemented by waves of oak spice, clove, and a touch of earthy malt sweetness. The finish is long and warming, leaving lingering impressions of creamy vanilla, dark fruit, and refined oak tannins, a testament to its meticulous aging process.
