Old Bardstown is a label of bourbon that claims to offer high-quality characteristics of bourbon at an affordable price. They recognize it as a "sour mash" bourbon, which means that they yeast they use in fermentation is the same from batch to batch—a bit from the prior batch being retained for the next. The Estate Bottled bourbon is aged for 10 years and bottled at a sharp 101 proof.
The bourbon earned a score of 95 points from Jim Murray's Whisky Bible, and the Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012.
